Breathing

In the Yogic Tradition domain, Prāṇāyāma is a Sanskrit term that refers to "Control" or "Extension of Breathing". It also refers to the set of breathing techniques that, practiced under the aegis of a meditative attitude, aim to balance and relate the members of the triad formed by Vital Energy, Mind and Breath.

Contrary to what is commonly thought, the practice of breathing exercises with contemplative and soteriological purposes, as well as the understanding of their relationship with mental states and vitality, are not exclusive to Yoga. We have several examples of this, in Ancient Greece, Islamic Mysticism, Taoism, Alchemy, Shamanism, among others.

Thus, one of the main objectives of this platform is to practice, study and investigate the application of different breathing techniques in Contemplative Science.
